Tiltrotor UAV is one of the first projects that we developed in 2014. Tiltrotor UAV is an unmanned aerial vehicle that is a combination of plane and multicopter with the possibility of an instant transition between flight modes.
We designed and implemented a prototype with a very reliable motor tilt mechanism. UAV is stabilized by independently controlled thrust vectors of engines. We also developed an autonomous control system which supports transition among flight modes. This system provides stable flight in three modes: VTOL mode, plane mode, and partial conversion mode.
Besides tiltrotor prototype, we developed VTOL plane. VTOL construction is much simpler and more mechanically reliable then tiltrotor one.
UAV can be used for small package delivery to remote places. Miniature tiltrotor can also be used in emergency situations since it can land on almost any surface.
